Public Speaking

I have had the privilege of speaking at national conferences and professional organizations, sharing insights on topics including eating disorders, group psychotherapy, neurodivergent-affirming and identity-affirming clinical practice. My presentations center relational, psychodynamic, and liberation-based approaches to healing, offering both clinical depth and lived experience.

Below are some of my recent and upcoming presentations at national and regional conferences, where I continue to engage clinicians, researchers, and advocates in conversations about inclusive, trauma-informed, and affirming care.

I offer clinical consultation and professional training for therapists, treatment centers, and organizations seeking to deepen their understanding of inclusive, affirming clinical practice. My work focuses on integrating relational, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed frameworks through a lens of liberation psychology and disability justice.

I provide guidance and training on:

  • Inclusive and affirming care for BIPOC, Transgender, Queer, and Neurodivergent (Autistic & ADHD) clients.

  • Eating disorder treatment that centers body diversity, Health at Every Size (HAES), and neurodivergent-affirming approaches.

  • Eating disorder therapy for BIPOC, Transgender and/or Queer, clients.

  • Affirming eating disorder therapy for larger bodied individuals

  • Group therapy dynamics and the use of group psychodynamic psychotherapy and Gestalt techniques

Fatphobia in the LGBTQIA+ Community: Male Beauty Standards and Cultural Perceptions

Host by National Alliance for Eating Disorders & Reasons Eating Disorder Center

November 7th, 2025 @ 11 am - 12:30 pm EST

Providing affirming and competent care to gay men requires more than a general understanding of eating disorders, and requires a framework that is both gay-affirming and sex-positive. This webinar will explore how cultural pressures within LGBTQIA+ communities themselves, particularly dating app culture and intracommunity stigma, shape body image, reinforce exclusionary beauty standards, and contribute to disordered eating behaviors. We’ll discuss how fatphobia often emerges internally, and how these dynamics not only impact clients’ relationships with food and body, but also their willingness to engage in treatment and recovery.

Conference Workshops

Centering Transmasculine and BIPOC

2026 iaedp™ ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM

This workshop offers a clinically grounded, identity-affirming framework for treating eating disorders in transgender clients, with particular attention to transmasculine individuals and transgender people of color. Attendees will explore the diagnostic criteria for gender dysphoria and consider how intersecting identities shape the lived experience of body image distress and disordered eating. We will examine current best practices in gender-affirming eating disorder care, drawing from recent research and emerging therapeutic models. Additionally, participants will engage with excerpts from interviews conducted with transgender providers-highlighting real-world applications of inclusive and ethical treatment.Through case-informed reflection and theoretical dialogue, this session will equip clinicians with deeper insight and actionable tools to support transgender clients in ways that affirm identity, reduce harm, and foster healing.

Group Intervention: Marginalized Therapist Identity & Presence

Eastern Group Psychotherapy Society (EGPS) Annual Conference

Online on Friday, November 14th, 2025

Participants will explore the inherent impact of a group facilitator's marginalized identity and presence on group dynamics and treatment outcomes. The presenter will share a case vignette illustrating the use of "self" as a group intervention within a predominantly white, cisgender eating disorder treatment center. Broader implications of using the self as an intervention within the current sociopolitical climate will also be discussed. It all begins with an idea.

Away from Infantilization: Discussions of Autistic Sex and Sexuality

Positive Sexuality Conference

With the growing neurodivergent movement has come increased visibility and a cultural shift toward greater acceptance of Autism. However, negative perceptions and misconceptions about what Autism is, and the lives that autistic people lead continue to persist. This lecture aims to explore the importance of acknowledging Autistic peoples’ sexuality and interest in sex, and to highlight the need to challenge the widespread infantilization of Autistic individuals. A case vignette featuring a teenage boy’s developing sexual interests and his parents’ misconceptions about them will be used as a case example.
